Please excuse the rant. Went to our first MLB game in years over the weekend. And saw, again, why it has been so long. Player (who we won't name) in right field lets an easy fly ball drop in front of him. Later, another ball that he could have had lands foul down the right field line. Then he hits a ground ball to short and jogs down the baseline. It's a low throw and the first baseman has to pick it, but no problem because the runner is nowhere near the base. Looked up this player's salary and he has recently signed a four-year, $78 million dollar contract. A family of four paying to watch this would have to spend $300 between tickets, food and parking.
