Is this Coach "Over the Top"?
We’re huge fans of Rick Reilly, who writes a column on SI.com. We’ve posted links to many of his funny, often poignant pieces. And readers of this blog know we’ve also often opined about over-competitiveness in youth sports and the need for a balance between teaching kids good, solid fundamentals, the love of the game, fun and, yes, winning. After receiving a letter from a parent, Reilly singles out a football coach in Texas for an aggressive attitude he’s taken towards his team of eight year-olds. Is this article on the mark, or is this coach not “out of bounds” and deserving of scorn?
