Article About All-Star Favoritism

This is the time of year Little League all-stars are in full swing. We came across this article, which is a response to a parent who felt their child was wrongly omitted from the team. While the author provides some valuable information, the aspect that is always overlooked in these situations is that we take for granted that the parent's assessment of their own child is accurate. Every parent believes their sports-playing child is better than they are, especially in a completely subjective sport like baseball and softball. Read the article from this lens and see if it changes your perspective. (Courtesy Stephen Borelli, USA Today)
